Our Commitment
The City of Mount Vernon is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to all residents and visitors, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Accessibility Features
This site uses semantic headings and landmarks for screen reader navigation, descriptive alternative text on images, sufficient color contrast, keyboard-navigable menus and forms, and responsive layouts that support zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We regularly review pages, new features, and content against accessibility standards and remediate issues as they are identified.
Third-Party Content
Some content — such as embedded maps and external links — is provided by third parties and may not fully conform to our accessibility standards. We encourage vendors to provide accessible experiences.
