Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Mount Vernon, Kentucky city portal ("we," "us," or "the site") collects, uses, and protects information from visitors. By using this site, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide — such as your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a contact form. We also automatically collect standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site through cookies and analytics tools.
How We Use Your Information
Information is used to respond to inquiries, deliver newsletters you've requested, improve site content and navigation, and understand how visitors use the site. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
Cookies
This site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to remember preferences and measure site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly without them.
Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com. Third-party vendors' use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies.
Affiliate Links & Cookies
Some pages contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer may place a cookie on your device to attribute the sale to us. This costs you nothing extra. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" and a disclosure appears on pages that contain them. Retailer cookies are governed by their own privacy policies.
Analytics
We use analytics services to understand aggregate visitor behavior — page views, session duration, and traffic sources. This data is anonymized and used solely to improve the site.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to Other Sites
Our site contains links to external websites, including government resources and local businesses. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
