Tucked just off I-75 in Rockcastle County, Lake Linville is a 356-acre reservoir that offers some of the best outdoor recreation in southeastern Kentucky. Created in 1968 by the construction of Renfro Dam, the lake has been a beloved local getaway for generations.
Fishing is the main draw. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, white crappie, hybrid bass, channel catfish, bluegill, and more. A boat ramp and dock provide easy access, and boats, live bait, and tackle are available on-site.
Beyond fishing, Lake Linville offers a campground, splash pad, and picnic areas — making it perfect for a family day trip or a weekend getaway. The shoreline stretches nearly 8 miles, with plenty of quiet coves to explore by kayak or canoe.
